Now Accepting Applications

Calling all storytellers, scientists, educators, and conservationists across Canada.

Are you working on a project that impacts land, water, wildlife, culture or history in Canada? If so, we want to hear from you.

The Trebek Initiative is a joint grantmaking partnership between the National Geographic Society and the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. We accept applications annually in October, with awards announced the following April. Successful applicants receive funding, access to exclusive networking events, mentorship, opportunities to showcase their work on international stages, and support from our impact storytelling team.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, October 29th, 2025, at 11:59 PM ET
